Field Locations

Visitors and suppliers to CSX Purchasing and Materials offices are welcomed guests on our property. Everyone on CSX property must abide by a set of rules and guidelines that ensure the safety of all.

All visitors and suppliers will:

• follow the safest route and go directly to the Purchasing & Materials storeroom office. Most locations will have a designated (green) walkway that leads to the storeroom's main offices.
• wear hard hats, except when in offices and break rooms.
• wear safety eyewear at all times.
• wear hearing protection where required.
• wear safety shoes (no tennis shoes).
• be properly dressed -- no shorts, sleeveless shirts
• conduct themselves in a civil and courteous manner.
• check in with a manager or other responsible CSXT employee upon arrival. The manager or responsible CSXT employee will perform a safe job briefing to ensure guests know what is expected. This applies to anyone regardless of how many times that individual has visited a facility. (In the case of an outside contractor, the manager or leader of that group may check in for the group but the entire group will be required to participate in a safe job briefing before starting any work).

Anyone failing to follow this policy will be asked to leave the property.

Noted exception: Some service and delivery people making a delivery only may not be subject to parts of this policy if they are only in an office or break-room environment the entire time or if there is a predetermined safe zone where they are allowed to make a drop off or pick up. If the status of a visit changes, and they are in the immediate area where Purchasing & Materials or other CSXT employees are performing work, then the entire policy applies.
