Vehicle Operations
Vehicle Operations is responsible for vehicle and forklift acquisition, national account contracting/coordination, and the day-to-day safe operation and administration of the vehicle fleet, including tracking vehicle transfers, issuing purchase orders for all vehicle repairs over $1000, and issuing vehicle pro-card overrides. Vehicle Operations also coordinates with providers of titling/licensing/DOT compliance services, fuel card services, and vehicle pro-card services.

CSX has a fleet of 4,800 vehicles (plus rentals) operating in every state east of the Mississippi River, except Wisconsin, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

The CSX fleet is used to assist employees with maintaining the equipment, track, signals and infrastructure needed for the railroad to function efficiently. This is mostly a straight truck fleet, broken down as follows:

Vehicle Maintenance  
CSX has no in-house maintenance facilities for vehicle repair or service. Vehicles are maintained and repaired locally through relationships our employees establish with dealers and repair facilities in their areas. Payment for repairs is made with procurement cards assigned to each vehicle.
